Siedle Access

Siedle unveiled its new IP-based communication system Siedle Access for the first time at the Light+Building. The manufacturer has now completed important development steps, and the system is due to enter the field testing stage in June.

\”The hardware is ready, the system is capable of running and it now has a face\”, Jürgen Eschle, Head of Engineering at Siedle summarizes the latest stage of development. The concierge software, the indoor station and the software client, which sends door calls and video images to the PC monitor, are now operating with user interfaces in their final definitive layout. The manufacturer has been supporting the implementation since June in selected pilot projects, while a field test is currently running in the Siedle Logistics Centre under real conditions. At the same time, Access is already proving a competitive success: Siedle is reporting numerous enquiries and has already succeeded in closing the first project deals.

Faster and more economical with IP
\”The message that is already coming across from the market reaction is that Access is right on the mark\”, explains Head of Project Sales Fred Penzin. The open-ended and scalable design of the system addresses many different kinds of requirement, explains Penzin, and the system benefits also impact positively on price calculation. In the field of video systems, Siedle is able to come in around 20 per cent lower with Access than with the previous system Siedle Multi, which previously covered a comparable requirement profile. Even more marked is the improvement in terms of planning times: For a medium-sized office building, the planner\’s work would previously take some six or seven hours, while with Access this process can be completed in just an hour. Using Access, a whole raft of influencing factors no longer play any role. For instance the cables, connection technology and devices required for audio and video systems are identical; the only difference is in the licensing. Because subsequent changes or retrofit solutions are far easier to accommodate, the planning work involved is significantly lower.

Access opens up new markets
New market potential is already opening up with Access. This includes large-scale international projects, for instance companies with a large number of networked locations. Fred Penzin is also pleasantly surprised by the lively demand received in the field of luxury detached homes: \”House planners in this high-end sector clearly envisage major potential for IP\”, enthuses the Project Sales Manager. \”Planners in this field have a great affinity for technology and are looking to achieve maximum integration with building management and media control to create totally interconnected systems.\” At the same time they – and their clients – have high aspirations when it comes to design, top-quality materials, perfect workmanship and simple operation. We are ideally placed to meet this requirement profile with Access\”.
